| Girls
and ICT We have an ICT project
        Girls on the
Web. The project which started in
1996 is partially funded by the Norwegian
Ministry of Education, Research and Church Affairs. Originally the aim
of the project was to encourage girls to become professional ICT users.
Now we are developing the project to all pupils at the school. We want
our pupils to use ICT in a creative and innovative way. We are
discussing new ways of organizing our school and put emphasis on
problem based learning, self directed learning, better assessment
          strategies and projects.

        The birkebeiner project
          - a great success
Our web magazine about Birkebeinerrennet has
been a great success. We have had over 16000 hits. We also competed with
a commercial web based sports paper (Nettbirken) that in many ways had
the same concept as we had. SOL/Kvasir is the biggest Norwegian
Internet portal. In the days just after the Birkebeinerrenn we were
the 10th most visited web site on SOL/Kvasirs
weekly ranking list. Our competitor, Nettbirken, was not at the
          ranking list at all.
